Hearing Tests - Adults
We will provide you with a thorough evaluation assessing the outer, middle, and inner ears through otoscopy, tympanometry, pure tone audiometry, distortion product otoacoustic emissions, speech testing in quiet and speech testing in noise, which are used to make a formal diagnosis of your hearing and word understanding abilities. You will be given a copy of the results at your visit. This testing takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

We will obtain testing specific to your tinnitus to include pitch matching, loudness matching, minimum masking levels, and loudness uncomfortable levels. This information along with the hearing test will be used to develop a treatment plan for tinnitus management. This testing takes approximately 10 minutes.

Dr. Beck is also experienced in testing little ones. She was identified with hearing loss at 3 years of age and knows the importance of early identification of hearing loss. We will complete a thorough evaluation assessing the outer, middle, and inner ears through otoscopy, tympanometry, pure tone audiometry, distortion product otoacoustic emissions, and speech testing. A pediatric evaluation will last from 10-30 minutes depending on the attention span of the kid and/or willingness to participate in testing and may take several visits to obtain all of the necessary information.
